FEWER, BETTER THINGS
We believe in the principals of slow fashion - designing products to last, with quality and design being at the heart of everything we do. Fewer, Better Things is one of our guiding principals.
We focus on how raw materials, tools, design and technique come together to produce beauty in handmade items which can be passed down through generations. We are not big on trends, we strive to ensure that you live with our pieces for years, even decades to come.
Beabond was created with the vision of working with artisans in Botswana to create beautiful timeless pieces, with a strong focus on quality and design. From the outset our mission was to ensure that through strong ethical and environmental practises the company would be positioned to deliver a measurable difference to the communities and people that we partner with. Beabond was founded by Ferelith and Nicholas, the collections are inspired by their years spent living in Botswana with their family. We are not big on trends, but make items that you can wear and enjoy now and forever. Some of the fabrics are locally sourced African print cottons, produced in South Africa. Whether it be diamonds or fabrics, we source from local partners, supporting local industries and communities primarily in Botswana.
CRAFTSMANSHIP MATTERS
We have built personal relationships with artisans and craftsmen across Botswana, learning about their unique skills over many shared cups of roibos tea. Good things take time; each rug takes about two weeks to make, starting with hand dying the wool. We partner with a local cooperative in Oodi who have over 200 years of collective experience.
THE ART OF SLOW
Consuming less and taking care of the objects and items we own and buy, being conscious of our footprint and what it means for the planet are all part of Beabonds philosophy. Through strong ethical and environmental practises we are able to deliver a measurable difference to the communities and people we partner with. Learn more here.
JEWELLERY CREATION
Our jewellery designs are inspired by nature, culture and symbols in Africa. We source ethically mined diamonds from Botswana, they are then polished in India a country that has over 3,000 years of history and expertise in making high quality precious jewellery. We have teamed up with one of the leading jewellery manufacturers in Mumbai, each piece is ethically hand crafted by highly skilled goldsmiths and set with a Botswana diamond; fine jewellery for everyday wear.
