DIAMONDS DO GOOD

Botswana diamonds have transformed the fortunes of the country over 50 years. Hundreds of thousands of lives have been touched by the proceeds from diamonds in Botswana; revenue has been used for the betterment of the nation. It’s a powerful story and legacy of how diamonds do good.

At the time of independence in 1966, in a country the size of France there were only 12km of paved roads, few hospitals and most people depended on cattle and subsistence farming for an income. CARBON NEUTRAL

Through our ‘Zama Zama’ initiative in the Okavango Delta we ensure that the 160KG of Carbon it takes to produced a one carat diamond is offset. Each of our wood burning ovens offset 4 tons of Carbon a year ensuring that all the diamonds we use in our jewellery are carbon neutral.

Why the Journey of Your Diamond Matters

At Beabond, we directly source our diamonds from known mines and sources. Through Botswanamark™, we can provide provenance—the region or countries of origin—for every newly sourced, individually registered diamond (of .20 carats and larger) that we set. The journey of a Beabond diamond is more than a map of where a diamond has been; it represents the positive impact our operations have on local communities and the environment.
